There is an excellent pool at the bottom of the falls, perfect for swimming on a hot day. The falls are located a little over a mile in. You have the option of the 2.4 miles there and back hike or the 4.4-mile loop. White Rock Falls trailhead is found at milepost 18.5 of the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you are looking for a good hike with some great views, White Rock Falls is the perfect spot for you. Sliding Rock Falls is open all year round however, you may not want to swim during the cold! Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months, and bathrooms are open during this time as well. It is a trendy spot in the summer and does cost $4 per person to enter. What can be better than a natural waterslide? There are also smaller pools of water at the base that are fun to enjoy. Naturally formed, the falls are a low-rise cascade that sweeps over smooth rocks that thousands of people slide down each year. SLIDING ROCK FALLSĪt milepost 412 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, you will come across Sliding Rock Falls! Sliding Rock Falls is a super fun family event. This hike is a total of 4 miles there and back and is fairly easy older kids love it but it may be harder for younger children. If you are eager to keep going, you can continue to see a second waterfall. ![]() This is a preferred swimming spot since it’s a little less crowded than other popular swimming pools in the area. Here you can take pictures, relax, and even go swimming! It is a great spot for family gatherings. From the parking area (that has bathrooms!) you can walk just 0.3 miles to the first set of falls. Just south of Asheville, Graveyard Falls can be found at milepost 418.8 of the Blue Ridge Parkway. ![]() Trailhead location for Moore Cove Falls 3. Moore Cove Falls can be found at milepost 411 of the Blue Ridge Parkway and is a perfect day trip. The trail leads you to a peaceful 50-foot waterfall, and the best part is that you can walk behind and under the falls! People of all ages enjoy this waterfall. The hike is extremely easy, and it is a short 0.7 miles from the parking area. Moore Cove Falls is a wonderful family spot.
